About Menny
Menny Monahan is a counsellor, supervisor, trainer, and researcher. Her experience spans 20 years, in both the not-for-profit sector and in private practice.
Menny is a Registered Counsellor with the Australian Counsellors Association (ACA), an Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapist, a Clinical Supervisor with the ACA and works as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counsellor. Embracing a postmodern, social constructionist approach to therapy, her work is embedded in trauma-informed practice.

Menny works in partnership with the YMCA Social Impact, Brisbane where she was pivotal in developing an evidence-based, trauma-informed program called Thrive Wellbeing Pathway. Thrive brings life to ground-breaking research that provides young people with an increased capacity to engage in education.
As a consultant to the YMCA, she delivers training and professional supervision to school staff across the eight campuses of the YMCA Vocational Schools. Within this role, Menny delivers workshops to young people including Psych 101 (Neuropsychology), Zen workshops (for young people with Anxiety) and Diamonds + Pearls workshop (Resilience + Antifragilty).
